The coach with the gymnastics
My approach to coaching is grounded in the belief that there is no single “right” way to be fit. Every body moves differently, adapts differently, and carries a different history. I find real fulfillment in helping people discover what fitness looks like for them—whether that means building strength, moving without pain, gaining confidence, or simply feeling more capable in everyday life.
The gym should be a place that empowers you. Empowerment can look like lifting something you never thought you could, moving with more confidence than you had yesterday, or realizing that your body is more capable than you once believed. Helping people experience that moment—when effort turns into confidence—is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching.
Training has been a consistent part of my life for as long as I can remember, evolving alongside my goals and seasons of life. I’ve been involved in CrossFit-style training for approximately six years, and it quickly became a space where I could challenge myself physically while continuing to grow mentally. Along the way, I’ve expanded my training to include yoga, Olympic weightlifting (my favorite element of CrossFit), and endurance pursuits. In 2023, I completed the Triple Bypass, a personal milestone that pushed me well outside my comfort zone and remains one of my proudest accomplishments.
Outside the gym, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and long walks with my dog Parker and my partner Lance—activities that remind me why building strength and capacity in the gym matters in the first place.
My athletic foundation began in cheerleading, a sport I proudly stand behind. With roots in dance and gymnastics, competitive cheer taught me discipline, body awareness, teamwork, and how to perform under pressure. Those early years laid the groundwork for many of the skills I rely on today, both as a coach and as a mover.
At The Den, I love watching members hit a new PR, master a new skill, or simply show up and trust the process. Those moments are powerful—not just because of the achievement itself, but because they reflect consistency, effort, and a community that genuinely supports one another.
My goal as a coach is simple: to help people feel strong, confident, and capable—inside and outside the gym.
